Visibility
Here is a thought I had from observing the migration of people to the opening weekend of deer season. There are a lot of folks dressed in blaze orange this time of year. You can always tell who is headed for the hunting camp by the color of their wardrobe and by the atv's and coolers strapped to the trailers behind their SUV's.
This led me to wonder...What if Christians wore blaze orange vests or some other eye-catching color as identification? Would we behave differently if we stood out from the crowd? You know, we should stand out in the crowd anyway. According to scripture we are supposed to be clothed with Christ, and that in itself should make us highly visible to the rest of the world.
I'm glad God didn't make us wear blaze orange or fluorescent green as identifying marks. Jesus said it is by our fruit that they will know us (Luke 6:44). I believe it's better to be a fruit bearer than to be an orange wearer.
Just thinking,
Pastor Jerry
