False Teachers
We were visited this week by one of those groups that go around knocking on doors and sharing their literature.
It always saddens me to think that they have been deceived into thinking they can acquire eternal life by doing good works.
These folks are taught that Jesus Christ is only a prophet and teacher, but not the Son of God. And, they deny that he is God. Those who teach these false doctrines have chosen not to believe the Word of God as he inspired it to be written, and for leading the innocent astray they will be judged and severely punished. That isn't something I made up, God said it! (1 Peter 2:1-3).

Just last week, I read an article that said, "If the God you worship doesn't appear in the person of Jesus Christ, you aren't worshiping the True God." It follows then, that if you worship a god that didn't appear as a baby in a manger, born to a virgin and later crucified, died, was buried and rose again, then your god isn't God Almighty.
"For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). It is a simple statement; so simple that many find it hard to believe. In Romans 10:9, Paul wrote this..."That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Saving faith requires nothing but faith in the One who died for the sins of the world. If we could get to heaven by our good works, Jesus Christ died for nothing and the baby in the manger is only a feel-good story!
